Jacks Beat Records

Beat Records or Jacks Beat was an independent danish record label founded by the 19-year-old Jack Fridthjof in 1965. From 1965 to 1969 Jack Fridthjof recorded approximately ninety 7-inch records, mainly with unknown artists and groups. The first tracks were recorded with Danish beat artists, including Jack himself, on ordinary mono tape recorders and had a wonderful rough garage sound. Later on the label profile expanded to release a wide range of different artists and genres, incl. psychedelic-rock, mainstream pop and even folklore artists. Today the label is highly collectable. Many releases from Jacks Beat were manufactured in only 100-300 copies and are very rare today.
